Garbo Range in Stockholm’s new hotels
Nordic Hotels are Stockholm’s two newest and most exclusively designed hotels. They are both included in the world covering group Design Hotels, where design is considered as an important part of how the hotels are experienced by the guests. To become a member of Design Hotels a carefully prepared design concept combined with new thinking and creative architecture is demanded.
Garbo fits perfectly in Design Hotels
Interior designers of the two hotels Nordic Light and Nordic Sea have started out from a pure and obvious style of design with Scandinavian touch. Nordic Light Hotel has emphasized on light in it’s different shapes and in Nordic Sea, the sea and waves are the common denominators. Quite logical, all the bathrooms of the hotels have been equipped with FM Mattsson’s exclusive product line, Garbo, which with it’s soft flexible lines and it’s finish combines the function with the best possible design.

9000-line in Gothia Towers
Gothenburg skyline is today dominated by two towers, belonging to the new Hotel Gothia Towers. The early tower with it,s 18 storeys has been companied by another, with as many as 23 storeys and with a fantastic view of Gothenburg from the restaurant and bar on the top floor.
The choice of mixer brand was obvious
-When it comes to choice of mixer brands, we were quite firm in our conception, says Ove Svensson, the project manager of the tower construction work. Our experiences of FM Mattsson’s mixers from the old hotel section are very good, and then we know that their technology can deal with the tricky pressure conditions in these high buildings. With FM Mattsson’s mixers we know that we get a quiet system which is appreciated by our guests. Silence is a very important ingredient when a hotel talks quality, concludes Ove Svensson.
FM Mattsson’s tub and shower mixers
- guarantees a stable and pleasant shower temperature
- has a built in safety system which protects from too hot water.
(Important as the hot water must be hot due to the risk of legionella)
EcoFlow returned the money ten times in three years
Service and maintenance department at Scandic Hotel Plaza in Umea really are “to be congratulated”. In early 1997 the hotel replaced the normal aerators with EcoFlow flow regulators in their basin and shower mixers in every guestroom. Thanks to this small investment the hotel has today lower water consumption even though the number of guests has increased.
NOT ONE SINGLE SERVICE ACTION
We have not had one single service action since 1997, says Kenneth Kondradsson, maintenance manager of Hotel Plaza. It is of great importance to us, who are involved in service and maintenance. It is also worth mentioning that not one single guest has complained on the water or the showers during the passed years.
MORE THAN 100 LITRES SAVED EVERY GUEST-NIGHT
- If the three years after the aerator replacement are compared with the period 1994-96, we have saved more than 16.000 m³ (cbm), says Kenneth Kondradsson. If focusing on the water invoice only, it means we have saved over 180.000 SEK (13.800 GBP £).
In addition to this we have decreased our heating costs for hot water. We estimate that the half amount of the water saving comes from hot water.
FM Mattsson’s mixers are distinguished by:
- quality into smallest detail
- long length of life
- minimal service and maintenance requirement.
